Perplexity

What it does

Perplexity answers a question and footnotes every claim with a live source. For export teams that is the difference between a plausible-sounding market summary and one you can forward to a manager with the links attached.

Deep Research runs multi-step investigations over dozens of sources. It still misreads paywalled pages, so citations need a spot check.

Standout features

• Answers with inline source citations
• Deep Research for multi-step investigations
• Focus modes for academic or web sources
• File upload for document Q&A
• Follow-up threads keep context
